Voce Pura Chorale
Voce Pura is a chorale located in the Charlotte, NC metro area, performing 4-8 part a cappella choral music. Voce Pura uniquely sings using the “pure voice” style, resulting in sounds that are not possible in conventional choirs. Our mission is to create a rich tapestry of sound through pure voices, emphasizing minimal vibrato for a harmonious blend. Join us in celebrating the art of choral music, where every voice contributes to a stunning auditory experience. We perform music primarily from the late 19th – 21st centuries from composers including Rachmaninov, Chesnokov, Barber, Taverner and more.

Voce Pura “a pure sound ”
Voce Pura means pure voice in Italian. Voce Pura focuses on achieving a unique, pure sound. Four to eight part singing is done in straight tones with the use of vibrato in the voice minimized. With this technique the notes in every part are better able to combine and simultaneously create new “overtones” and “undertones”, giving a richer vocal texture to the choir’s sound.

About Our Artistic Director
John Holobinko was the former artistic director of the All Saints Orthodox Cathedral Choir in Hartford, Connecticut before relocating with his family to the Charlotte area in 2017.
He has over thirty years experience conducting acapella choirs and has been a coach to other acapella choral directors. He specializes In the pure voice form of a cappella choral singing.
Voce Pura Performances
Voce Pura performs concerts at various venues including public concert halls and churches primarily in the Charlotte, NC and SC metropolitan area. Virtually all music performed by Voce Pura is sung in English.
